A resource parent in Bernie is in need of a crib to be able to accept infant placements. If you've got a changing table, she'd appreciate that, too! Registration information for Forms, Documentation, and Lifebooks training on February 2nd will be posted on Friday, January 29th around noon. FosterAdopt Connect presents Human Trafficking virtual training on Thursday, January 28th from 6-8pm. Human traffickers prey on individuals who are most vulnerable, making foster children who have experienc...ed trauma, runaways from foster/group homes, young adults who age out of foster care, and homeless youth, especially LGBTQ+, especially susceptible to becoming human trafficking victims. Jenifer Sturdivan, LPC, Secretary of Stand Against Trafficking, and foster parent, will teach participants what human trafficking is, how to be aware of signs of a trafficking victim, and what resources are available to those who may be trafficked. FosterAdopt Connect has been contacted about an older teen who has found a family to stay with, but is in need of a bed to make her own. The family found a frame, but needs a mattress. If you have a nice clean twin bed or mattresses for this young lady please call or text 573-609-4132 in order to arrange pick-up. Again, thank you for sharing the posts and trying to help.

A local foster family has accepted placement of an unexpected newborn and needs a baby bassinet and crib. If you have one to donate please phone or text 573-727-4200 to arrange for pick-up. FosterAdopt Connect appreciates all of you who continue to help families who care for kids who are affected by the child welfare system.

Happy weekend! For those who weren't aware, when a family accepts placement of foster children, it is often 2-3 months before that family receives a monetary stipend from the state that can help them buy needed items. When a family agrees to house more kids than they planned, for the purpose of keeping siblings together, there is often an immediate need for beds. A local foster family has accepted placement of a sibling group and needs bunk beds with mattresses to accommodate... the children. Does anyone have bunk beds or mattresses to donate to this foster family? If so, please call or text 573-300-8478 to arrange pick up. FosterAdopt Connect is appreciative of all the community members who share posts and try to do their part in making sure our local children have safe places to lay their head each night. Your donations really do make a difference.
