Some call the book of Ruth the Crown Jewel of the Old Testament. Ruth begins with famine, death and loss. The story is told through conversations and it ends with God's glorious redemptive work in Ruth, a pagan outsider and a widow beset by poverty. Ruth is our role model for an awesome friend of faith. She had a tenacity of purpose, remaining loyal to her mother in law, Naomi for life ("where you die I will die"). Ruth 1:17 ... Ruth blessed Naomi; Boaz blessed Ruth; and in turn God blessed Ruth and Boaz with marriage and their son, Obed who was the father of Jesse, whose son was King David. Praise God for faithful friends!!!!
