All, I received this note today from a visitor to our town who saw Eureka Police Officers assisting a motorist. Thanks guys for a job well done! (Kuczka and Tapp)... Many people will take the time to point out the negative when they see it. Not too many will point out the positive. Today I write to you to tell you a story that happened in a blink of an eye for myself and yet I'll spend much more time telling you about it. At roughly 11:45 am exiting interstate 44 at 109 I moved left due to the emergency vehicles ahead on the shoulder. The part I saw next I haven't seen in years and wish I saw it daily. It was two of your officers helping a driver. One officer down on his knee changing the tire and the other on the shoulder safely with the driver. This is the part I smiled at. Wether it was out of necessity or kindness this is what makes me appreciate the job You are doing. These fine law enforcement officers work for you and the Mayor they must take pride in both the Protecting and the Serving! Especially the Serving part. I am unsure of which of your officers it was but I hope all of your officers assist/serve the community in this way and others. Just as these two kind officers did. Please pass this to the Mayor if you will. I hope you have a wonderful day. Stay safe. Promote positivity! Show compassion. Others will follow Visitor to Eureka MO

Shop with A Cop is in full swing. Participants were recommended to us by our local Rockwood Schools as families who need a little extra help. From now until Christmas you may see Eureka Police Officers at Walmart shopping and having fun with kids from our community. We are incredibly blessed in this community to have generous people who donate money, work hard, and make this program possible. We would like to thank the following sponsors for collecting donations from the c...ommunity. Realty Executives Premiere Poor Richard’s Red Door Eureka Music Hola Super Smokers Culvers In addition to collecting donations, our Eureka Culver’s donated plush cheese curds for all the kids and a meal for each of the families. Santa’s Magical Kingdom donated free passes for each family to enjoy the lights. We will share pictures of each family with the officer they have been paired up with over the next couple weeks. It’s a wonderful experience for the officers as they get to enjoy making relationships with these children and their families. Sergeant Knittel and Corporal Grittini had a great time last night with the first of the amazing kids who need a little extra love this holiday season. See more

All, Our Friends at Rockwood Gives Back have asked that we put out the word to assist them with some basic essentials that most of us take for granted. We have many families in Rockwood that have fallen on hard times and can use a hand during the holiday season. The Giving Place: A donation center provides items for our own Rockwood students in need; warm coats in the winter, a bed to sleep in, diapers, feminine care products, cleaning products, and much more. ... Needed items include: feminine hygiene products (tampons and maxi pads), diapers and disposable training pants, cleaning supplies, vacuum cleaners, kitchen utensils and dishes, pots and pans, new pillows and bedding, new socks and underwear of all sizes (youth through adult). If you can help with any of the items mentioned, please feel free to drop them off at the Police Building, 120 City Hall Drive. Thank You Learn more at www.rsdmo.org/giveback.
