This is the relief of the Last Supper that is inset into the high altar at Father Kapaun's home parish of St. John Nepomucene. Emil Kapaun was born on Holy Thur...sday, April 20, 1916. He dedicated his life to be a priest of Christ and to offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. This was where he offered his first Mass, spiritually joining himself and those he loved to the sacrifice of Christ. Later, in the prison camp he completed his offering by giving his very life in imitation of his savior's sacrifice. Now we believe from heaven he is perfectly united to that sacrifice of Christ to the Father. We believe he hears the prayers of all of us who seek him in humility and the desire to offer ourselves in the same way. A blessed Holy Thursday.
