Our aeration systems ensure good mixing and circulation throughout the pond even with ice present and our diffusers create the primary warm spots in the lagoon. As long as lagoons are prepared with reduced tension on the laterals (to allow for temperature change) and water levels are kept at least 4 feet above the diffusers, the system will operate normally even in temperatures as low as -25F, -30C. When ice forms from the water continuing to pump and allowing air out, as ...in normal operation, these wonderful looking honey comb mounds will appear.
