If you plan on whitening your teeth, at home or in-office, starting with clean teeth free of plaque and tartar, you will get the best results. 2Stay Clean: Starting with a clean foundation is important. But if you want that whiteness to stay, you must keep them clean. This means being consistent at home when it comes to brushing and being consistent on coming in for your in office... cleanings. 3Immediate stain: If you have dark liquids or foods, at least rinsing your mouth with water can help prevent those stains from sticking. If you can brush, even better! 4Touch-ups: Once you get the level of white you are happy with, don’t forget to do touch-ups. White teeth isn’t a one and done type of procedure, the more dark liquids (hello coffee) and foods you have, the quicker your whiteness will wear off.
