I (Kelly Caul, she/her, MSW, LCSW) feel so much gratitude to be able to offer these therapeutic empowerment groups for teen girls (a space that welcomes all tee...ns that identify or are identified as female). There is a magic that happens when individuals sit in circle and find ways to learn and lead together. It is transformational and inspiring on so many levels. Fall sessions are forming now and start on September 21. - - Quieting the Storm is a 12-Week Therapeutic Empowerment Group for teen girls (welcoming all teens that identify or are identified as female) in high school. Since 2009, these groups have cultivated brave space for teens to co-create a supportive and accepting environment as they explore themes including self-compassion, confidence, self-criticism, emotional self-care, body image, healthy relationships, boundaries, assertiveness, and much more. - - More importantly this is a space where individuals find courage to be authentic, get real about topics that matter, and find their voice. - - We all need connection. The teen years in particular can be a time of disconnection for teen girls - disconnection from self and a sense of belonging with others. These groups foster an environment of ACCEPTANCE and COMPASSION, while celebrating everyone’s differences and finding unity in our uniqueness. - - This group strivers to help individuals feel seen, heard, and valued for who they are, while both their strengths and struggles are honored. - - There is healing power in connection and community. When we find ways to accept and hold compassion for ourself, we can build more genuine connections with others. This group strives to teach girls how to reconnect with, listen to, and learn from their INTERNAL WISDOM, while learning new skills to help befriend emotions, embrace emotions, build meaningful relationships, and show up in the world with a commitment to kindness and compassion. - - More information at kellycaul.com. Trauma-Informed Yoga is a practice for cultivating RESILIENCE and the capacity to BE present with our internal world, so that we can then show up in our WHOLENESS. We look forward to being in community with you this Thursday at Livestream - Community Strong-Featuring IFCLA. Community Strong is a series of trauma-informed yoga classes for social workers, psychotherapists, activists, health care workers, yoga teachers, educators, and other helping professionals. Each event fea...tures a local organization doing innovative work in trauma and/or social justice issues. Our community partner for this Thursday is IFCLA - St. Louis Inter-Faith Committee on Latin America. This is a donation-based gathering (suggested donation of $10, no one turned away), and 100% of donations go directly to IFCLA. We will start with a trauma-informed yoga class led by one of the yoga teachers at Empowered Spaces, Colleen Caul will be teaching this upcoming class. The class will explore trauma-informed yoga as a tool for practicing nervous system awareness and regulation, mindfulness, self-compassion, and connection. Following the class, a leader from the Community Partner Agency will speak about how their work relates to trauma and/or social justice issues. As with all our yoga classes at Empowered Spaces, this is for all levels, all bodies, and all people. Whether you have never step foot on a yoga mat or you have a regular practice - we welcome you here, come exactly as you are. #empoweredspaces #communitystrong #communityhealing #communitycare

Dearest Communitny We invite you to join us for our next Community Rise gathering. This is a free online open forum dedicated to the increasingly essential practice of embracing our resiliency and inherent wisdom while working with fear, anxiety, and trauma in our nervous systems, bodies, and minds. In times of global crisis and uncertainty, we affirm our commitment to stand in solidarity, care for each other in all ways that we can, and to show up in supportive, giving, and... loving community. The intention for Community Rise is to both hold space for the co-creation of community and a felt sense of belonging, while also building embodied practices that center personal and collective healing and well-being. This gathering will be led by Kelly Caul(she/her/hers, LCSW, Founding Director of Empowered Spaces, psychotherapist) and Sarika Talve-Goodman(she/her/hers, PhD in Literature/Trauma theory, Empowered Spaces Advisory Circle member, Social Work practicum student). We will begin the gathering with Kelly and Sarika offering a short embodied practice to support us in reconnecting to our intuition, inner strength, and wisdom such as mindfulness, grounding, compassion, and building nervous system awareness and regulation. There will then be space for connecting with one another, sharing experiences, and drawing upon our collective wisdom. There will be the option to join in the conversation and share verbally, through the chat box, or to simply bear witness to the experiences of others. We will gather via zoom.
