We received a delivery from HappyBottoms Diapers today! We are thankful to be able to continue handing out diapers during this pandemic.

This has been a rewarding project. Thanks to David, the students, Dr. Blersch, the strings, Matthew, Clete, Brent, Derek, and all the others who contributed to... this performance and video/audio. While we are not gathering to worship tomorrow, here is a beautiful Lenten hymn that would have been our opening hymn. "Christ the Life of All the Living". https://youtu.be/sK1cfkfAivs Long before Jesus’ death and resurrection, God made clear to His people that death would not have the last word. As Ezekiel was inspired to write of the dry bones of death having life breathed into them, it would foreshadow the future for God’s people through the One who conquered death and grave once for all. In a world of death and decay, we are sustained in our journey now until the resurrection of all flesh through Jesus Christ, our life-giving Lord and Savior.

Today, we had a gentleman stop by for diapers (through our HappyBottoms program). He has a family of 4, was recently laid off, has a 4-week old baby, and no wip...es or toilet paper at home. We were able to provide him with not only diapers and wipes, but also with food from the food pantry. Thank you to everyone who helps support us so we can make this happen! See more

The food pantry at Immanuel Lutheran will be open Thursday as normally scheduled. Preparations were under way today with some awesome volunteers! We pray that e...veryone is doing well and staying healthy during these ever-changing times. "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved." UPDATE: The food pantry at Immanuel Lutheran (4205 Tracy Ave, KCMO 64110) will still be open Thursday, but will follow these guidelines: Pre-filled emergency ...bags only until further notice. During this time, we will not be accepting new guests. Current families only. You may still come once a month. No substitutions during this emergency bag process. If you have a large family, you will receive a supplement bag. We appreciate your patience with us during this time.

Bible class and worship service are cancelled for Sunday March 22, 2020. God loved the world so that he gave, His only Son, the world to save. Therefore, God calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Please make responsible and loving decisions as we do our part to slow this down and give the scientists time to develop and test a response. Please pray for all people working to resolve and manage this situation. Please pray for those that are susceptible to suffering f...rom this virus as well as the ripple effects of staying home - such as our local small businesses, restaurants, hourly workers and others that have no means of income if they are asked to stay home. God is in control, as He has been from the beginning and will be forever. Be comforted in this Lenten season that we have a loving Creator that has conquered death.
