The sun is out, our yard sale is restocked, there is new vintage in-store, and we are ready to have a great Saturday with you! Shopping local this holiday season means more to the small businesses you are supporting than we can even explain. Every time you make a purchase with us, we do a little happy dance because we know we are helping KidsTLC and Wayside Waifs improve the life of children and pets. Today we celebrate and support all the amazing businesses that we are so lu...cky to have in our community, because that’s what makes Kansas City special. Our hours: Saturday 11-7 Sunday 12-5 #smallbusinesssaturday #localkc #shopsmallkc #shoplocalkcmo #shoplocalkc
Our Mr. Jules of California blue and green mohair coat was originally sold in the 1960s at Harzfeld's Department Store. Harzfeld's was the first women's ready-to-wear clothing store in Kansas City. The store, originally named the Parisian Cloak Company, was opened in 1891 by Sigmund Harzfeld. The first customers came largely out of curiosity because ready-made clothing for women was mostly unheard of. Back then, women made their own clothing at home or had a seamstress come in for several days or weeks to sew everything needed for the season - dresses, shirtwaists, skirts, nightgowns, petticoats, and even the children's clothing and underwear. Harzfeld's is a special part of Kansas City's history, a story that we hope to honor by giving our pieces new lives and homes. This coat is now available on our website, www.dogoodkc.org
We are blown away by the support we received from all of you over the course of our grand reopening. Thank you for being here for us, cheering us on, and coming in to shop this past week. Even though you couldn't see any of our smiles through our masks, we were truly grinning from ear to ear. Catching up with old friends, and meeting so many new ones, reminded us of the core pillar that makes up who we are: community. Without all of you, none of this would be possible. We are now open Wednesday through Saturday 11-7 and Sunday 12-5.
We are officially open! Come shop with us in support of KidsTLC & Wayside Waifs. Wednesday-Saturday 11-7 Sunday 12-5... 413 E. 18th Street, Kansas City, MO

COLLECTION NO. 1 -- Our inaugural collection celebrating the many forms of legacy, lasting impact, and shared memories. Here's to the journey ahead. Now available in-store and online at DOGOODKC.ORG
When our store opens we will be offering more than our usual vintage and gently-loved clothing, we are also welcoming some amazing home and beauty products into our collection. One of our new products is @movidacare deodorant. Located in California, Movida creates their deodorants free of sulfates, propylene glycol, parabens, and cruelty. Their naturally balanced aluminum-free product is formulated with essential oils to combat odor-causing bacteria.... Going natural with your deodorant is good for a whole list of reasons, but specifically because typical aluminum-based deodorants have been linked to causing breast cancer, clogging underarm pores, and irritating skin. If you’ve been wanting to switch to a natural deodorant or you are curious about the other ways it will benefit you, come shop with us this weekend. We can’t wait to see you and tell you even more about our favorite products. See more
Every week our fearless leader, Ashley, gives the team something to think on while we work. This week, we are focusing on showing up as ourselves and being genuine in everything we do. This makes it easier for other people to do the same, and in the end we are all better off for it. Where do you want to show up most genuinely in your life? ... When do you feel challenged to be your true self?
In 1925 the Chanel suit was something the world had never seen before...at least not on women. Chanel's revolutionary suit consisted of a collarless jacket and a well-fitted skirt, often featuring military-style pockets and ornate buttons. Since women in the 1920s mainly wore corsets and other confining, uncomfortable, garments, Chanel's creativity changed the trajectory of women's fashion. The brand put their personal spin on classic menswear and turned i...t into something that allowed women to show their power through their clothing. With the liberation of women following the war, Chanel's clothing officially became known for its freedom of movement in their practical designs. This historical masterpiece, and more, will be available in our next collection, dropping 10/23. "Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening." -Gabrielle Bonheur "Coco" Chanel See more
Did you know that you can donate your vintage and gently loved clothing to us? Now is the perfect time to declutter your closet and get rid of the pieces you no longer wear. With our store opening around the corner, we are looking to expand our inventory and stock up on colder weather items. And just in case you needed more of a reason to clean out your wardrobe, all our proceeds go to Wayside Waifs and KidsTLC. So even though you might think you are simply donating clothing,... you are really changing the lives of children and pets in the Kansas City area. Send us a message or email us at [email protected] to schedule a time to drop off your donation.
It’s officially twenty days until our next collection drops. Do you have your eyes on any of the pieces? What wardrobe additions are you looking to make as we approach the cooler months?... Leave us a comment below. See more
The mural at our new location is officially complete! You might recognize the similarity to the black and white exterior of our previous store, but for everyone else we want to introduce you to the artist behind the art: @johnraux Even though we don't open for a few more weeks, our mural is more than ready for its debut. Feel free to grab a bite to eat nearby (there are so many places to choose from!) and snag a seat on our back patio. We are so grateful for the opportunity to support people doing what they love, while also adding beautiful art to Kansas City. We can’t wait for you to see what John has given us.
