The 2012 AHS Kennel/Yearbooks are in and unpacked. You are going to want one! The theme is: Famous In A Small Town.... Several people ordered them and still need to pay before picking them up. You had two options of paying...one was to be billed from Josten's and the other one was to pay me... I have the deposit slips recording money paid to me. If you ordered, but did not pay, I ordered one for you and will hold them for two weeks before making them available to everyone else. The books are $50. (Old yearbooks are available while they last at a cost of $10 each for a single. If you buy more than one year from the past they are $5 each.) Checks are payable to AHS Media. (Please put what you are buying in the memo.) Those wanting to pick up their yearbooks can come to room 303 (Mrs. Mobley's room). from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. (today) Friday, March 1st, and from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, March 4th. We will also distribute books Thursday evening after 3 p.m. Do not come to pick up your yearbook during regular class time throughout the school day. Disruptions are not welcome during class time. RECEIPTS WILL BE HELPFUL, especially if you paid through Josten's. *Order forms for the 2013 yearbooks will be distributed during the coming week. You need to specify if you want Josten's to bill you or if you want to pay through the school on your form. Order forms are due by Friday, March 8th. Early bird payments for the 2013 books are $45. Those pre-ordering will be billed $50 before June 1st. AHS STUCO---Non-perishable food drive set for tomorrow and Friday in conjunction with the Winter Blood Drive & Homecoming. We will be donating to local food pantries. We will also have a drawing for some prizes. Every non-perishable item gets your name one time in the drawing. (There's no limit on how many times you can be in the drawing.)...
School Housekeeping this morning: Remind your friends at Aurora High School to pay their STUCO dues of $5 sometime during the month of October to stay on the "active" list. The dues will be used for an end of year celebration and small scholarship at the end of the year. Officers/members must pay their dues to stay on the slate. THANKS!
AHS Student Council sponsored its first Blood Drive in August. Another one is planned for December. Please continue to support our efforts!
Good Afternoon: We have a cart full of AHS yearbooks from 2006-2010 for sale/first come/first serve. They normally sell for $50 each and we are trying to make room for the 2011 ones that will be on their way in the next few days. We have been given us permission to sell them for $15 each. (They will get cheaper if you buy more than one.) If you know of someone who might be interested, please repost. They can email me at [email protected] or call 678-3355 extension 1303 and leave a message. I will only sell them before and after school//not during the regular school day. These books need some good homes to make room for the new ones coming our way. We can leave the books in the office or we can also deliver them or put them in the mail. Thank for helping us spread the word.....
Looking for goody bag items for our Homecoming Candidates. Homecoming is Friday. We have six high school girls and six boys in the mix. Any coupons, gift certificates or small items that will fit in a gift bag will work. You can also drop items off for us here at the high school....thanks!
X the TXT campaign with Allstate and STUCO garnered over 300 pledges to drive safely without texting and driving. Bill Baker was our local sponsor.

Today will find the media class traveling to Pittsburg State to meet with artists to design the 2012 yearbook/kennel cover. So far, themes that are in the running for the top slot include: Forever Young and Famous In A Small Town. This will be our fifth book created totally online, but it will be the first one with a chronological ladder. We will keep you posted!
