Over the past two days, your trainees have been battling the elements while putting all of their rifle marksmanship training into practice. Wind, rain, and sub 40 degree temperatures couldn’t stop these Dragons from qualifying on their back up iron sights on their assigned weapon!

In addition to their ACFT, trainees spent their time at the Engagment Skills Trainer (EST)! This tool helps familiarize trainees with the range, range procedures, and getting some practice going through the motions of qualifying. All without firing a single live round. This allows them to be calm, cool, and collected once it finally comes time for qualification day!

Trainees took their second record ACFT today. The ACFT consists of a dead-lift, standing power throw, t push-up, sprint-drag-carry, leg tuck, and a 2-mile run! They looked a lot more confident and coordinated than the first test they took 4 weeks ago!

The updated graduation date for Class 20-504 is 23 December 2020. As of right now, we are still considering all possibilities as to what will happen when your trainees graduate. We are trying to formulate a plan that allows as many people as possible to spend the holidays with their families and friends. Thank you for your patience in this matter and we will be pushing out information as soon as we get it.

Today your trainees took on the Physical Endurance Course where they climbed a 20’ rope, crossed over a gap utilizing a three-rope bridge and one-rope bridge, climbed up and over a cargo net, transversed the horizontal bars, and much more! The PECs streamer was awarded to 3rd Platoon for winning the relay competition! Never Fail the Breach!

Today, D Co trainees continued with group and zero marksmanship training on their weapons iron sights. All Soldiers must be technically and tactically proficient, with this training giving them a fundamental skill that they will continue to refine through the rest of their Army careers. We tried to photograph as many trainees as possible, so if you don’t see your trainee stay tuned. You are bound to see them eventually!

The past week, the Dragons have been busy getting after training! Some highlights are below! The trainees put their bodies and minds to the test on the Confidence Course. It is a physically demanding obstacle course that allows the trainees the opportunity to see how far they have come in the few weeks they have been here. Through rigorous PT and good nutrition, many trainees have improved drastically. Over the weekend, trainees went to the first of their three BCT field training exercises, The Hammer. This is the foundation of their Army education. Trainees learn basic field craft, including how to build fighting position, first aid, and got an introduction to Operations Orders (OPORDS).

Today the trainees put their gear to the test with the dreaded Gas Chamber. They had to put their fear aside and rely on the training they had been given in order to get through this event. Of course, at the end of testing their gear, they got a taste of the CS Gas!
