We are continuing to spotlight more of our CQ family this week. Erin and Casey are the Co-Directors for Camp Quality Central Missouri! They have been with CQ since the early 2000’s serving as companions, volunteering on the COC, and in 2010 became the Co-Directors of CMO. They were recruited by their HS Biology teacher who lost their cousin who passed away of ALL at just 3 years old. They both live in Holt Summit near Jefferson City, MO with their fur babies Piper and Winnie.... Erin works as a high school agriculture teacher and FFA Advisor. In her free time she is a social media junkie, watching holiday movies on Hallmark and Lifetime and enjoys shopping. A fun fact about her is she loves Christmas and has 5 Christmas trees but helped put up a total of about 15! Casey works as a teacher as well and in her free time enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching TV, and hanging out with her dogs. Fun fact about Casey is she shares her birthday, June 20, with her grandma and younger brother. Thanks Erin and Casey! Your energy is contagious! #thankful #campqualityfamily #childhoodcancer

Meet our Rockstar Volunteer Mary Colin! She’s been involved with Camp Quality Ozarks for 11 years serving as a companion and also volunteering on the COC. She lives in Joplin, MO where she is an elementary principal and coach. Most people can’t believe at camp she’s a principal and grown up and in charge of a school because they have SO much fun at camp. She’s married to her husband Adam and has two kids, Emmy and Maddy. She enjoys watching her kids play sports on the weekends. Interesting fact about Mary is she is legally blind but says it’s a good excuse to get the cabin closest to the dining hall. ;-) Mary pictured below with her camper Bethany who have been matched for 6 years! Meet our cancer warrior Maddy from Camp Ozarks! Last year, Maddy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic B Cell Leukemia and iAM21. At 10 years old, Maddy was a very active girl. She played basketball, cheered, and attended football games with her friends. When cancer put these activities on hold, her principal recommended Camp Quality. She attended her first camp this year virtually with her twin sister Alysa and they had so much fun! During the week of camp, Maddy made s’mores, participated in a scavenger hunt, baked cookies, and made a tie-dyed shirt -- her new favorite craft! This month is Maddy's birthday and she's holding a blood drive in the Ozarks area. Please help us in wishing Maddy A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY and reaching her goal of getting 60 units of blood donated. #superhero #childhoodcancer #campqualityfamily

This month we are giving thanks to ALL our wonderful volunteers, campers, and staff in KS/MO! Thanks for all that you do to make camp possible for our cancer warriors. We will be spotlighting some of our CQ family each week to share their stories. #thankful #campqualityfamily #childhoodcancer Kristin Patterson, also known as Special K has been involved with Camp Quality for 23 years! Kristin was diagnosed with AML Leukemia at the age of 10 and was able to get involved short...ly after. She started off as a camper, then she served as a volunteer, treasurer, and is currently the Executive Director for CQ Ozarks where she spends time year-round making events possible for all her wonderful campers. Kristin resides in Diamond, MO with her daughter Kenzie who is 13 and her fur baby Lacy! She works at UMB bank as a branch manager but in her free time loves watching her daughter play sports, spending time with family and of course her CQ family. She is so passionate about CQ and is extremely grateful to give back since she grew up going to CQ. Interesting fact about her is she cries a lot - during the good times, bad times and all in between. It’s a joke at camp about her always wearing her emotions on her sleeves. We love you Kristin! Thanks for all that you do!
