A fun way to let the smaller kids play with snow with these freezing temperatures is to fill a bucket or a small tub like the one below with snow and let them play inside with it. If you're worried about a mess, put it in your bathtub and let them go to town!!!!
***ATTENTION*** As much as the kids love the snow, please keep your little ones inside in these freezing temperatures. Kids can possibly get frost nip or frost bite in a shorter time than what we are used to.
***Weather Advisory*** Due to the inclement weather, ALL City buildings will close today at 11am. Stay safe out there, and please do not travel on the roads unless it is completely necessary.... Also, please check on your elderly neighbors if possible to make sure they have enough supplies to weather the storm.
5:45 AM: This morning's commute is heavily impacted by this round of snowfall. Continue to avoid travel in these conditions! If you MUST travel: buckle up, take it slow and stay alert. And give snowplows plenty of room to work! For current conditions: http://traveler.modot.org/map/
Please join us in congratulating Firefighters Malensky and Reynolds on passing their probationary tests. They have shown passion and dedication to the service of our community.
The Fire Department hosted a Coat and Clothing drive at the Ferguson Community Center yesterday. Thanks to the Ferguson Parks & Recreation for the use of their facility and the Mayor, Ella Jones, for her support.

Just a friendly heads up for the weekend. Please plan accordingly, reduce travel. If you have to travel, use extreme caution.
We have compiled a quick video of a number of incidents from 2020. In it you will see many of the dedicated men and women of your department and surrounding departments that come together with one goal, to protect life and property. 2020 was a challenging year for all, but we strive to be prepared to serve our community with dedication and professionalism no matter what life throws at us.
As 2020 comes to an end, we look back on one of our busiest years to date. We started 2020 by welcoming 5 additional Firefighters to our family along with our new ladder truck. While navigating the pandemic, your firefighters responded to 4,132 calls for service. The Men and Women of the Ferguson Fire Department would like to wish everyone a prosperous new year and we look forward to 2021
Keep your eyes open!
The members of the Ferguson Fire Department hope you all have a Happy New Year. Please celebrate safely and have fun!
If Pfizers Covid-19 Vaccination is approved by FDA, we could see 50,000 units in the St. Louis area within the next 2 weeks. The model for distribution would involve Health Care/Front-line workers receiving them first, the next tier would involve "the most at-risk people in the population". The vaccines require 2 doses spread apart based on which brand the area receives. There is still no information on when a possible vaccine would be released to the general public in a mass quantity. All of this is based on the vaccination being approved by the FDA. We will keep everyone updated as information becomes available. https://fox2now.com//st-louis-area-will-likely-receive-th/
