Cape Girardeau County, and our neighbors in Scott County, are currently leading the state in percent of the population getting their first doses of the COVID-19 vaccination. If you are waiting to be vaccinated, thank you for your commitment and patience. And thank you to our community's vaccinators for working through the challenges of ending this pandemic Cape Girardeau County Public Health Center, SoutheastHEALTH, Broadway Pharmacy, Saint Francis Healthcare System. The Red Star Access is a great asset to Ward 1 and the whole city! From Alyssa Phares of VisitCape, "Coming back for their 4th year, Twisted Cat Outdoors is hosting the Cape Girardeau event on July 17, 2021, at Red Star Access. We are thrilled to be welcoming them back and are so happy this event has grown and flourished. If you or a friend/family member has considered diving into competitive Mississippi River Catfish angling, this might be the event for you!"

Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) can help in two ways; through a one-time payment for a heating bill from November through March, or through the winter Energy Crisis Intervention Program (ECIP). ECIP helps pay up to $800 toward fuel bills when a household’s energy is shut off or at risk of disconnection. https://mydss.mo.gov/energy-assistance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FN2wRoWYGj0&feature=youtu.be
