It is a new year, that means new year's resolutions. One of our members of a local congregation has a new view on resolutions! This is her goal! "This year I chose to focus my self-improvement on a positive word in place of writing out a short list of specific goals. I chose gentle. Being more gentle with myself and others. As I thought about what that would look like, I saw gentleness in my inner thoughts, saying kind things to myself. Being compassionate and loving when I ...make mistakes, just how I would talk to a dear friend. "Gentle" gives the benefit of the doubt, is generous in my appreciation and compassion for others. Gentleness causes one to serve and love and care. Gentleness can show itself by eating healthy and exercising more. Gentle feelings for oneself allows you to rise to the top of your list of priorities and when you are healthy and well, you have more to give those you love around you. As I want to increase gentle feelings I will study my scriptures and pray for gentleness to show in my daily life throughout the year." What are some of your goals for the new year?

In many religous cultures ancient and modern the practice of prayer has been in use. The act of prayer is done in many differnt ways, shapes, and forms, but all with the same intent to communicate with someone greater than us. It is done with a hope and desire that what we ask and plead for happens. Prayer has united nations, mended families, healed the sick, and pray has brought light into lives that were once filled with despair. Now more than ever we need to be united an...d stand together to get through these hard times. Prayer is one of the best ways to do so! We invite everyone, no matter what faith, to pray so that we can come together in unity!
