A word of caution for all those waiting for stimulus checks! The IRS will not call you for your bank account information. If you get a call from someone claiming to be from the IRS, it is a SCAM!

Happy Easter everyone! Check your bank accounts. Some of you might have received your stimulus payments! Go to www.irs.gov if you need to change your address for snail mail, or enter bank account information if you've always received your refund by check. If you use direct deposit, you will receive your stimulus payments much faster!... If you are not required to file a tax return, you can go to that site and enter your information to receive your money. I am still taking new and returning clients!

Here's how the stimulus payments are going to work. If you already receive Social Security and aren't required to file a tax return, you will get your payment automatically. No need to file a return. Also, if you don't use direct deposit for your refunds, you will have a chance to go online and give them your bank account information. For those of you who choose to self-isolate, I can still prepare your returns. Simply scan or photograph your forms and email them to: [email protected] or text to: 573-377-2316. I can prep returns from all 50 states, so you don't need to be local. If you are a new client, please include full legal names, social security numbers and dates of birth of all people in your household. Please include a selfie of you holding your driver's license up next to your face. Both adult filers must do this. Once your return is complete I can email you a PDF of your return and you can pay via Venmo or Paypal (paypal will cost an additional 3%). You can sign the form that gives me permission to file the return on your behalf, then email or text me a signed copy.

Today the government has moved the filing deadline to July 15. NO WORD FROM MISSOURI ON CHANGING THEIR DEADLINE. Unfortunately, you have to have your Federal return done before you can prepare the Missouri return. They are urging people to stay at home unless you have an emergency. I will still be in the office Mon-Thurs 9-5:30. If you don't want to come inside, feel free to use the drop slot next to my door. As far as I know everyone still has to file their returns by April 15th. However, they have extended the deadline for payment by 90 days. So if you owe, you now have until July 15 to pay that bill.
