POWERFUL! "The House of Seven Hungers" is spoken word by the fantastic Glenn North highlighting work of five artists that were commissioned to create art reflecting on racial and economic inequalities associated with nutrition assistance programs on how food policy shapes access to healthy food. From the KC Voices Collaborative, this regional partnership was created to lift the voices of residents in low-income, racially diverse neighborhoods in Kansas City. UMKC Center for Neighborhoods helped to contribute to this effort in partnership with Health Forward Foundation, KC Healthy Kids, Community Health Council of Wyandot County, and Groundwork Northeast Revitalization Group.
