The Crawford County Sheriff's Office would like to congratulate one of our Detention Officers on his graduation from the University of Missouri Law Enforcement Training Institute. In August of 2019, our office and with funding from the County Law Enforcement Restitution Fund board, began a scholarship program in effort to provide enhanced services, recruitment, and training, by sponsoring an employee through the academy. Justin McKinney is the second recipient of this annual ...scholarship. Justin began his career with this office in September of 2017 as a Detention Officer. Justin was chosen in August of 2020 for the scholarship and recently graduated second in his class on December 17, 2020. With the ongoing situation restricting the gathering of large groups, Justin missed out on a formal graduation ceremony. We invited Justin and his wife, Elizabeth, and their family to the Sheriff's Office for the official pinning of the badge. We are proud of the effort and work that Justin put into the academy. I am proud and honored to officially introduce Deputy Justin McKinney, who will be assigned to the road patrol division beginning January 1, 2021. Congratulations Deputy Justin McKinney! This date 19 years ago shook our country to its core, as we tried to understand what was occurring. 2,977 victims lost their lives, 412 of them were first responders doing their jobs. Today we remember all of those that lost their lives. The days following the attack were some of the proudest days Americans have ever seen. Our country set aside differences, hate, and disagreement, to come together with hope, pride, and love. In these tumultuous times occurring today, that feeling needs to be remembered, sought, and revered. Never forget.
