Carpenter Cemetery

Dear friends: We hope you have had a chance to visit Carpenter Cemetery recently. We are fortunate to have such a beautiful resting place for our loved ones. As you probably know, the cemetery relies on two sources of revenuethe sale of plots and financial giftsto pay for upkeep. Our only major expense is mowing and trimming. We are grateful to have an excellent mowing service, but the cost is significant. The cemetery needs to be mowed 18 to 20 times a year, or even more ...in rainy years like this one. Balance, April 30, 2016 $10,335.98 Income $ 6,730.67 Expenses $ 8,625.00 Balance, April 30, 2017 $ 8,441.65 Some families have offered to pay for one mowing per year (each mowing is $425), and we hope others might like to follow their example. We will recognize our donors with an announcement at the cemetery annual meeting next May and on the Carpenter Cemetery Facebook page. Of course, smaller donations are appreciatedand needed! Just a reminder that Saturday, May 6 is the annual cemetery meeting and clean up. This year is election year. Clean up starts at 9:00 and meeting starts at 10:00. Come and share your concerns, comments, suggestions, etc.

Don't forget our annual meeting on May 6 at 10:00. This year we will have elections for President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer. If you are interested in being on the cemetery board or know of someone you'd like to see on the board, be sure to come to the meeting and place your vote! Currently serving is: President, Robin Austin, Vice-President, Ronnie Greene and Treasurer, Dixie Hewitt. The Secretary position is vacate. THANK you to all of you who are currently on the board for all your hard work and dedication to the cemetery. We will also be doing clean up on May 6th so if you can, come and join in!!!
