CAC is planning to distribute 180 holiday meal kits for Thanksgiving. We have everything we need except the turkeys. We are asking for frozen turkey donations (medium size turkeys are great). Please help if you can. PS...Aldi has them for $.87/lb this week...limit 2.

Yesterday, Nov. 2, CAC received 60 phone calls from our neighbors who need emergency rent or utilities assistance or face possible eviction or no heat or lights. Help us help our neighbors in south Kansas City. Thank you. https://www.cackc.org/

Can you believe Thanksgiving is right around the corner? CAC is busy preparing to distribute Thanksgiving boxes to low income families in South Kansas City. How can you help? 1. Donate money - we can purchase our Thanksgiving box ingredients at a lower cost in bulk. 2. Donate Food - Turkeys; Instant Mashed Potatoes; Stuffing Mix; Turkey gravy packets; canned green beans, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes and pumpkin.... 3. Donate time - we need help pre-packing the boxes, at your convenience, weekdays between 9 am and 4 pm. We are practicing safe COVID procedures - masks, hand sanitizer, disinfectant, etc., and the area for packing will have only 1 -3 volunteers working at a time. Are you looking for a way to give back? CAC has a great Friday volunteer opportunity for you!! We need a volunteer to greet clients in their cars as they arrive for food distributions. We require that masks be worn (we can supply) and clients to remain in their cars. After registering each client, you will deliver food boxes directly to their cars. Hours are Fridays - 9 am - 2:30 pm. If interested, call Julie at 816-763-3277 x 110.
