We just received information from a citizen who reported receiving two telephone calls from persons purporting to be employees of the Social Security Administration. The number was a local number. These are spam number and can be generated anywhere in the world so don’t be fooled If the number appears to be local. The Social Security Administration has this alert posted on their website. Please follow these suggestions, WARNING Be on the lookout for fake calls, texts, a...nd emails Scammers are pretending to be government employees. They may threaten you and may demand immediate payment to avoid arrest or other legal action. Do not be fooled! Be Alert Social Security may call you in some situations but will never: Threaten you. Suspend your Social Security number. Demand an immediate payment from you. Require payment by cash, gift card, pre-paid debit card, or wire transfer. Ask for gift card numbers over the phone or to wire or mail cash. Social Security may email or text you about programs and services, but will never ask for a return call to an unknown number. Social Security only sends emails or text messages if you have opted in to receive them and only in limited situations, including the following: When you have subscribed with Social Security to receive updates and notifications by text or email. As part of Social Security’s enhanced security when accessing your personal my Social Security account. If you receive a suspicious call, text, or email: 1. Hang up 2. NEWS RELEASE The Boonville Police Department along with the Boonville Fire Department will be taking back unwanted prescription drugs October 23, 2021, at the Boonville Fire Department located at 500 Bingham Road Boonville, Mo. 65233 On Saturday, October 23, 2021, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Boonville Police and Fire Departments and the Drug Enforcement Administration will give the public its 17th opportunity in 10 years to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their home...s of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Bring your pills for disposal to the Boonville Fire Department at 500 Bingham Road Boonville, Mo. 65233. (The DEA cannot accept liquids or needles or sharps, only pills or patches.) The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked. If you cannot turn in your unwanted prescription drugs on the above date you can drop them off at the Boonville Police Department located at 401 East Morgan Street Boonville, Mo. 65233 any time before the event. This initiative addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. Medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Boonville Police Dept. Conducts Compliance Checks On September 25th, 2021, the Boonville Police Department conducted alcohol sale compliance checks at local establishments. During this operation, four establishments were found to be non-compliant and sold intoxicating liquor to a minor. PRESS RELEASE On January 8, 2021 at app 5:38 P.M. The Boonville Police Department was dispatched to the 700 Block of Locust Street for a reported assault with a possible hostage. Officers from the Boonville P.D., Cooper County Sheriff’s Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol went to the scene to investigate. A perimeter was set-up while officers tried to contact anyone inside the residence. Officers were unable to make contact.... The Missouri State Highway Patrol S.W.A.T. Team was called to assist. Upon their arrival the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.

BOONVILLE, MISSOURI POLICE DEPARTMENT LETTER OF COMMENDATION LIFE SAVING AWARD On December 8, 2020 at 11:23 P.M. Ptl. Courtland Ross was on general patrol near Bingham and Eleventh Streets when a vehicle pulled over and asked for assistance for a child that was not breathing. Ptl. Ross immediately contacted Dispatch for medical services. Ptl. Ross noticed the child was blue in color and not breathing. He initiated two back blows to the baby and the child began breathing. ... Ptl. Ross’s quick response, recognition of the medical emergency and immediate actions resulted directly in saving the life of the child. Failure to act or delay could have led to a different outcome. Your actions reflect highly, not only upon yourself, but also on the image and reputation of the Boonville, Missouri Police Department.
