As we head toward celebrating 10 years since we opened our doors, we decided to take a walk down memory lane via kchistory.org and dig up some old photos of our building. As much as we could have made our store something special in a strip mall, this building is as much a part of the identity of our shop as anything else. We love that this warehouse carries with it so much history and that we have had the opportunity to be a part of it. It’s weathered a lot, it survived the 1...951 flood and buildings next door burning down. If you’ve ever picked up something at our loading dock or parked in the big lot, then you’ve stood where buildings used to be connected to ours. Thank you for all your support these last 10 years as we expanded throughout this building. Come celebrate with us March 5th, 6th, and 7th. Photo 1) Taken in the 1980’s you can still see the building that used to stand at the corner of 12th & Hickory which later would burn down. Our entrance is the section painted in white. Photo 2) From the 1940’s Tax Assessment archive our entrance is located directly below the Farm Machinery sign. To the right is a building that is no longer here and instead is where many of you park each month. Photo 3) In the 30’s the Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps were created. You can see our building (which is technically two buildings connected to each other) listed as Bolt & Nut and Dairy Supplies. Photos 4 & 5) Taken in the early 90s show the block when things were a lot quieter in the Bottoms. While we are obviously sad that we didn’t get another Super Bowl trophy, this weekend was really special for us. Even though it was cold, snowing, a big weekend for our city (and not to mention that whole pandemic thing), this was our best February show in the history of our business. And there’s a lot of history, because March marks our 10 year anniversary of opening our doors. A decade of First Friday Weekends anchored to this spot. Right by the 12th street bridge we’d sa...y. This landmark for our store has been significant for the history of our city and our business. So we’ve got some fun plans in store for you guys as we round the corner to the big 10 and definitely hoping for a bit warmer weather when we celebrate See you March 5th, 6th and 7th.

We have always loved creating a unique shopping experience here in KC. March 2021 will mark a decade since we opened our doors and we are hopeful this 10th year will be special! Shop today until 4pm.

Wow. What a way to end the year. Y’all made this the best December show we’ve ever had. When we had to close our shop for two months there was a lot of uncertainty about what the future would hold for our business. It was scary to think that we spent the last decade working for something to potentially have to close our doors permanently. The support you’ve given us since we’ve opened again has truly humbled us. We are immensely grateful.... While we are closed for the remainder of 2020, we don’t want that to get you down. Our city is FULL of wonderful small businesses who have felt the same fears of having to close permanently. Please skip Amazon & big box stores this year for your holiday shopping. Shop local as much as possible. Even if you have to shop online or via Instagram, many small businesses have adapted to make shopping safer for you. And don’t forget the restaurants! Order take out, delivery, or get gift cards. I promise you that business owners and their employees will feel the same way we do when you choose to shop small in 2020. Leave your small business recommendations in our comments and we will feature as many as we can over the coming days.

Feels nice to have that warm glow of lights in our foyer again. Today is the last day of our big November show and there’s still a ton of great finds in the shop for y’all. This family has created a special experience for our customers to eat and enjoy themselves inside our shop each month. The food is all made from scratch and with so much love.
