Relationships among local Law Enforcement Agencies are important. To crooks, the county line is nothing more than a sign along the road or an ink line on a map. If law enforcement on both sides of those signs and lines aren't talking and working together, crooks and criminals aren't caught. We were happy to send our resources to help our neighbors, just as they have for us in the past. ... #cooperationiskey
As Bob Cratchit said in Dickens' classic "A Christmas Carol"- "I am behind my time". I found out a few days ago that Stacey Conklin and "Stacey's Place" delivered Thanksgiving meals to the Deputies and Jailers last week. ... We can't thank her and her staff enough for their kindness and generosity! Thank you! Sheriff Oller

The Audrain County Sheriff's Office is seeking the whereabouts of 15 year old Zachary Williams of rural Mexico. It is possible he may be attempting to get to the state of Kentucky. Everyone always asks what the home for wayward Deputies and Jailers feeds their staff........... Here's your answer. Huge thanks to Mr. DeYoung for making sure we're all well nourished in the morning!
It appears there are rumors and speculation flying around about a mass arrest this week based on our inmate population increase. To address those, there were no mass arrests. The inmate population of our jail grew by roughly 25 inmates over the past 2 days by receiving all of the inmates housed in the Pike County Jail in Bowling Green. The Pike County Sheriff and I, along with the Pike and Audrain County Commissions reached an agreement to house their inmates until they coul...d work through a staffing shortage. It is a common practice for Sheriffs to house their county's inmates in other Sheriff's jails for a variety of reasons, and is allowed by Missouri law. All of their inmates were delivered to our jail on Tuesday and Wednesday. Sheriff Oller
A big thanks to our local State Farm Agents and offices today for sending cake to the home for wayward deputies and jailers! Good neighbors right there!
I'm biased, but I've said many times my staff are the best. I'm not real great about keeping "dates" (birthdays, holidays, etc.), so I had no clue that today was "Boss's Day". Bless you all for taking care of our communities and remembering all the stuff I forget! I have it better than I deserve thanks to you all.... Sheriff Oller

Every year in the United States, at least 100 children are killed in collisions while walking to or from school. About half of all deaths of children in or near... school zones involve kids who are 15 or older. The Transportation Research Board reports that 25,000 children are injured every year in school zone accidents. We know in our rural schools, we don't usually have the problem with kids walking to school. However, due to being rural school districts, that means we have more personal vehicles and buses pulling in and out of our parking lots. Slow down and pay attention while traveling through school zones. #headsupphonesdown #dontspeed #savealife Deputy Burson 873

A little Tuesday morning hijinks escorting an oversized culvert across the county for our road and bridge crew. Thanks to all of our motorists for being patient this morning! #sherifflife... #ruralworldproblems
Please Share Over the past several days, the we have been called by several area residents stating they have received telephone calls where the caller claims that a friend or family member of the resident has been kidnapped. The caller has said that the kidnapping occurred after a vehicle crash or because the friend or family member witnessed a drug deal. ... There have been people yelling or crying in the background or getting on the phone and quickly talking, imitating a victim. The caller tries to get the resident to send money somewhere as ransom. These are scams. Do not send any money and do not provide any information. If you receive a call similar to this and are concerned about someone’s well being, you can either call that person yourself or contact law enforcement where the person lives, and ask that the person be checked on.
Tonight, our thoughts are with Sheriff Roye Cole and the men and women of the Webster County (MO) Sheriff's Office and their families and communities. They lost Deputy Sheriff Justin Burney in an off duty car crash on I-44 tonight after another car crossed the median and hit he and his children head on.
Over the past few weeks, we have taken delivery of a couple of batches of goodies. Thanks to the Mexico Jaycees and the Lockwood Park Baptist Church for feeding the wayward Deputies and Corrections Staff! Our communities rock!

As with our last employee certification, there was no ceremony, no band, no gathering, all thanks to COVID. That doesn't mean we're not proud!! This lady right here received her Missouri Peace Officer's License after attending the academy at MU and today, Corrections Officer Hazel Hardy became Deputy Sheriff Hazel Hardy, and she continues to serve in our Jail Division. It was a long 4 months, but......... she WORKED HER TAIL OFF, and not only received her POST Certification..., but received the honor of having the highest overall academic score of her class. Congratulations!
