I don’t know why it took me so long to prioritize self care. In the last week I’ve gotten my nails done, a blowout, extensions moved up, hair colored, and a massage. Yes, it’s a lot, but I finally had time for it. It’s not something I typically prioritize..constantly putting these things off until they’re desperately needed. Honestly, I wouldn’t have done half of these things if labor would start, but I don’t want to put them off anymore bc I FEEL BRAND NEW I think in thi...s industry (and momhood) we have a tendency to not think about ourselves and our standard of care starts to lower. Let’s stop that. Look good->feel good Feel good->look good See more

Cheers to another year of smooshing heads for the after shot. Hoping to get my timing down to actually have time to get some bomb after photos of ALL of my beautiful clients. Please don’t feel like I’m leaving anyone out for any specific purpose. Having an extra set of hands helps a ton, but I’ve noticed this gave way to more of my ocd behind the color. So grateful, but damnit, I need that photo. Clients, I’m giving you homework, tag me when your hair is making you feel all the things, I want to feel it with you

Catch me in the zone, how bout dat? Let’s address a few common questions with NBR: How many rows do I need? Generally speaking, 1 row is for volume, 2 rows for length and volume, 3 rows is for ultimate coverage body and length. I typically go all in with 3 rows bc why are extensions so addictive????... How often are move ups? Average, every 6-8 weeks, can be more frequent depending on how slick and fine your hair is. Unfortunately this goes for any method, the finer the hair the more frequent the visits (this also applies to the weight of the extensions, so if you want to be extra with your hair, you get to see me more often ) How often does the hair need to be replaced? Depends, are you keeping up with proper at home maintenance? Silly enough, brushing frequently and thoroughly is part of the care. Using professional products and being diligent with moisture and heat protection is major. Too much heat?Say bye bye. Tangles and matting? Expect to replace a weft before you want to. Not properly removing moisture from the base after a sweaty workout or a hot shower? Your hair will tell you about it later. Sounds like a lot, but I promise once you get a routine down it’s like brushing your teeth. With all that being said, extensions can last UP TO 4 months. This is not a death sentence to your hair, I have plenty who are setting records with keeping that hair well over a year AND THE HAIR STILL LOOKS GREAT. But trust, @norybeebe will tell you if it’s not as shes cleaning up the row. Why are extensions so pricey? Everything is pricey, sadly inflation is real. Add this on to the ever expanding time and money it takes to get certified, add a skill, or give better results. The thousands of dollars in inventory. The hours in the chair, the products used..it’s all in there. It takes time, money, and passion in exchange for a lifestyle and it’s definitely not for everyone. My advice when considering extensions: really do your research, see if it fits the budget, make sure the stylist you choose fits YOUR ideal look, if it doesn’t find the next best thing. For many years I resorted to clip in extensions (and swore by them! Anyone else??) Want more? Ask in the comments.
