Good morning... This is good counsel by John Councilmen... Proverbs 14:23 says All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. In simple terms, your words mean nothing without action. Talk is cheap. All hard work brings a profit. This is hard for some to believe. They may recall a time in which they put forward their maximum effort, only to receive different results from those desired. However, this is not an example of hard work failing to pay off. Ther...e are two potential outcomes for any given situation. The desired result, and everything else. If you achieve your desired results, obviously you would consider this a success your hard work paying off. But even if undesired results are received, you’ve likely learned something along the way. At the very least, you’ve learned one way not to achieve your goal. Thus, all hard work does indeed bring a profit. But mere talk leads only to poverty. God gave us free will for a reason. So that we may please Him and serve Him by doing good on our own accord. This not only includes, but is built upon the foundation of, you exercising your free will in the most basic of ways by attaching action to your words. Think every situation through. Tackle everything to the best of your ability. Through this, you will succeed. You will land exactly where God wants you. But you will never know what God has in store for you, if you never allow Him to show you. Think, decide, and most importantly, do. God bless. See more
