Many of us knew Matt Blankenship. Ever since the fire we've heard alot of great stories about what kind of a person he was. A family man, great friend and Co-worker, that kind of thing and every single one of them is true. He will be truely missed that is for sure and our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and the MFD. I have a question though. Why does it take a tragedy to share good thoughts and stories about Co-workers and friends. We work in a very tight knit ...community. Whether it be EMS, Fire, or Law Enforcement, many of us look at it as a family. I know I work and have worked around some of what I consider the most professional and skilled people in the area. I also work around some of the goofiest. If you have a story you want to share or a kuddos please let us know. Lets champion the Family we work with before it is too late for them to know what they really mean to us. If you want to do it anonymously the message us and we will share it. In the mean time, Everybody stay safe, give your loved ones hugs and kisses and tell them you love them, and look out for one another.
We soared to 130 likes and then hit a plateau. If you'd like to share our page with your EMS friends, we'd be rather grateful!!
Any of you artistic Medic/EMTs out there care to take a stab at designing a new profile picture for 417Medic's facebook page?
Apologies for the delay in posting this, I've been busy at work and am just sitting down for the first time in a week. I imagine most all of you have already seen this, but I would still like to share our thoughts/prayers for this Firefighter. http://www.marshfieldfiredepartment.com/Firefighter_Down.php

EMS crews in the 417 are among the lowest paid in the nation. Knowledge is power. How does your service measure up? http://417medic.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=30
What do you say to new EMTs trying to find a job?http://417medic.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=29

Ok folks, We've got a question for you. So far this page has 121 likes. However, the forum its linked to only has 12 member, some of which are admins and lets face it, they dont count. :) The Question is why? Are you afraid of reprecussions from discussions on the site? The site is not intended as a "Hey lets bash the other services" site. It intended to bring everyone together. To invite healthy relations between services in a much divided area. Are there certain thing...s you would like to see discussed? If so, PM either this page or one of the Admins on the Forum site and we will put it up. Are you aware of area training that can be posted? Send us that too. The end goal I think is to not have a site that the Higher Ups of the different organizations troll trying to get people in trouble, but to have a site that even they are willing to send to us information to share with the local provider community, Lets make this a great thing where we can all grow as an EMS community in the 417.
Good day 417 EMS Family! We've opened up the discussion pages a bit so you can see what's being cussed/discussed before you decide to sign up and join the conversation. Have a look at http://417medic.com/forums Also, Thanks a million for all of you that have shared the page! Never expected to be over 100 likes so soon!!
