Discover yourself was the theme for our in-school youth at Turner Middle School for 2 days exploring @debrucefound agilities tools and resources. Youth spent time learning about the 10 Agilities and taking the Agile Work Profiler (AWP) to help discover their work strengths and interest and how their top 3 agilities can apply to many different careers. This past weekend, youth volunteers, Destiny and Sing, spent their Saturday morning planting fruit trees for a local inner city community. As the season changes and colder weather approaches Kansas City, it's very important to prep and clean up gardens before it gets too cold. Today youth volunteers, Kelly and Aiden, spent this cold and windy morning cleaning up the Truman Heritage Community Garden in Independence, MO by pulling unhealthy/ over grown weeds. Also, staff from @kccommunitygardens educated and gave great tips on how it is important to up keep a healthy garden throughout the year. #YVCKC #servicethroughYVC

S.T.E.M. & Environment is one of YVC's strategic focus area and today youth, Aiden, had the opportunity to build skills on how to build garden beds, proper placement of multiple beds, and how to properly fill beds with soil through the Kansas City Community Gardens organization. #YVCKC #servicethroughYVC #kansascitycommunitygarden #STEM
