I suck at self care, especially when the things I enjoy the most that qualify (eating & drinking out, spending time with friends & yoga) are all problematic right now. Scrambling to salvage a business and deal with two kids doing virtual learning doesn’t help. But sometimes your body screams ENOUGH and you have no choice but to stop and practice some self care. I haven’t been able to move my neck for two days so I went to see my friend Necia this afternoon. She put m...e back to rights, as she always does, and she can help you too. I share this because she’s in a struggling business and we should all be making an effort to support small, independent operators these days. She’s also hella good at what she does. She doesn’t give light fluffy massages...she finds the issue, chases down the source, and WORKS it. I’m currently sore, drinking gallons of water and soaking in an epsom salt bath, but tomorrow I’ll feel great and will be able to look over my right shoulder. And I’ll remind myself I should never have let it get this bad to begin with! So if you need some bodywork, hit her up. She’s a friend but she’s also a consummate professional and I had no reservations about seeing her in this time of covid. Take care of yourselves friends. I don’t think there’s an end in sight. This is the new normal and we’re all going to have to figure out how to make it work. XOXO

Quick poll. If I cook for you thanksgiving week, would you prefer standard thanksgiving fare or an autumn feast? It’s hard to believe, but the holiday season starts in a week! In preparation I’ll be closed-ish next week to get my house in order. I have lots of plans and exciting opportunities but I need to get caught up on so many things before I can really devote the necessary energy to implementing them. Though I won’t be offering a Wednesday dinner or Friday brunch menu next week, I will offer a selection of soups to help warm your bellies and soothe your soul during this first ...really cold week. And if I have time to do some baking I’ll be sure to let you in on it. I haven’t settled on pick up times yet but I’ll definitely be more flexible than usual, with longer and more frequent pick up windows.
