As we stated in an earlier post, the City of Berger is planning on applying for a Community Development Block Grant to demolish abandoned residential properties in the City. The deadline to file is December 31, 2020. The grant requires the City to identify properties eligible for the grant and work with those property owners on demolishing the home. We are asking for your help in identifying properties eligible for the grant. If you are the owner of a property with an abandon...ed home you would like torn down, we would like to work with you. If you know of someone who has an abandoned home on their property, please let us know and we will reach out to them. Please contact City Clerk Kurt Hellmann at (573) 834-2074.
Mayor Englert, Members of the City Council, and the city staff all wish you a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

Last night, the Berger City Council approved creating a committee to draft a hazard/flood mitigation plan for Berger. They also approved creating a committee to identify abandoned residential properties in the city to be razed under a potential Community Development Block Grant from the State of Missouri. Both of these committees require community members in addition to city officials, and we are seeking volunteers from the community. If you are interested or want to know additional information, please contact City Clerk Kurt Hellmann at 573-834-2074 or [email protected].
