Process for the dragon sculpt. At lease a bit of it. Wire, paper, foil, rough clay, smooth clay, detail, more details, more structural wire, still more detail, then paint. Phewww!

My fantastic client @1_b_rad commissioned me to make whatever I wanted soon after the shut down for Kansas City. Over the past 6 weeks, I spent nearly 100 hours sculpting and painting this dragon and skull rock. He picked it up today and I’m sad to see it go but pleased it’s going to a great home! The balancing act and internal structure also engaged my engineer/ construction brain, which combined with art making was the saving grace during the bulk of the stay home mandate. ...It stands at 29 and weighs 9lbs. I learned a lot in the process and am looking forward to sculpting more! Thanks to everyone who bought shirts, prints and commissions for original work.
