Active Recovery Week, Day 1 Full Body Controlled Articular Rotations 500 meter swim (including warmups)... Hot/Cold Contrast Therapy FOOD Slowly easing back into training over the next two weeks. I will be giving my joints and nervous system time to regenerate following training camp and the fight. My shins and ankles are pretty heavily bruised, but otherwise no major injuries were sustained during the fight. Martial arts training will be done mostly with light drilling and film study. Mobility, isometrics and aerobic endurance will be used to maintain fitness until fatigue is dropped. Higher velocity/intensity training will resume after this. I am still reflecting on the fight (and debating how much to share publicly). I learned a lot during those 15 minutes. The best way I can describe it is, "I was able to use my prior knowledge of fighting principles and observe how they organized themselves to create the opponent in front of me." Put simply, there was a lot revealed to me last Friday. Many light bulbs were lit and dots connected. I can't help but become a little giddy as I marvel at this newly discovered monolith. Years upon years of history and knowledge just sitting right in front of me, waiting to be extracted and experimented with. The enormity of it all humbles me so much I often reduce my own status to that of a worm. Finally reaching the surface only to realize my climb to the top has landed me in the dirt, at the bottom of the food chain. What a journey this has been! Nearly a decade of work to realize that you have just now knocked at the door of those who stomp on the level you barely crept out of. That's why I love this life, the learning never stops... #growthmindset #whitebelt #jeetkunedo #motivationmonday
