Wilson's Creek National Battlefield celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month! September 15 thru October 15 is celebrated nationwide as we honor the cultures of both Hispanic and Latino Americans. More than 20,000 Hispanics fought in the Civil War on both sides. The Civil War was the bloodiest war in the United States history and claimed the lives of more than 620,000 Americans. Hispanics were very much a part of this conflict. If you visit us at the park today be sure to stop by th...e information kiosk to pick up a free book "Hispanics and the Civil War" while the limited supply lasts.
