WDD Secures Certification for Werner Enterprises, Inc. Truck Drivers Williams Dirks Dameron successfully obtained certification of an FLSA collective action on behalf of Werner Enterprises, Inc. truck drivers who were classified as independent contractors. The case alleges that Werner Enterprises misclassified truck drivers as independent contractors, calling them Owner Operators, failed to pay them minimum wages and made unlawful deductions from their earned compensation.... The class consists of all current and former Owner Operators who drove for Werner between May 2015 and May 2019 using trucks purchased from Werner. Matt Dameron Elected President of Legal Aid Board of Trustees. Matt Dameron recently was elected President of the Board of Trustees for Legal Aid of Western Missouri. He previously served as Vice President and Treasurer of the Board. His term will begin in January 2021. Legal Aid of Western Missouri provides free civil (non-criminal) legal assistance to people who need it most and can afford it least. With offices in Kansas City, Joplin, St. Joseph and Warrensburg, it serves ...a 40-county area where 295,000 people live in poverty. Legal Aid is governed by a 30-member Board of Trustees representing the 40-county service area. The Board is composed of attorney and client-eligible representatives from the program’s service area.
