MILITARY TUITION ASSISTANCE MESSAGES The Department of the Air Force values and is committed to education for both Air and Space Professionals, especially given the high technical nature of our work. We are excited our members are taking advantage of their time under COVID to improve themselves and pursue education.... We looked at the budget again, and found a way to return to the previous military tuition assistance cap, $4,500 for this coming fiscal year. This Department of the Air Force is committed to the continued professional and personal growth of our Airmen and Space Professionals in support of our nation's defense. As a result of the reinstatement, the program will resume the same benefits as before. The Department will pay for up to $250 per semester hour and $166.66 per quarter hour and applications should be routed via the Air Force Virtual Education Center online platform. Tuition assistance is only one of several tools members can use to minimize out of pocket expenses: o DSST (DANTES Standardized Subject Tests) o CLEP (College Level Examination Program) o Local installation scholarships (Top 3, etc.) o Assistance with applying for grants/scholarships from Education Centers and Airmen & Family Readiness Centers We are an all-volunteer force and we do not take the commitment and sacrifice of our members, who have many other choices, for granted.
