Why is the so big? We are an all hazards response organization and our trucks must be big enough to carry equipment for: - Hazardous Materials/ Weapons of Mass Destruction Incidents ... - Vehicle Accidents - Fires - Life Threatening Medical Emergencies - Water Rescues - Trench Rescues - Natural Disasters - Confined Space Rescues - High Angle Rescues - Animal Rescues - Ice Rescues - Building Collapses - And any other incident we are called to The fire service is the communities toolbox. We train to handle any situation that may be presented to us. The green truck in this picture is a 1998 Spartan rescue pumper. The yellow truck in the background is a 1982 Ford tanker. This truck is currently out of service due to frame rail cracks. Please like and share! #insidewffpd

On today’s special Chiefs edition of #FirefighterFriday we present Fire Chief Arron Lee. Chief Lee is a 10 Year veteran of the WFFPD. Starting as a probationary firefighter and working all the way up to Chief of The Department Chief Lee brings a wide range of knowledge and experience to the position of Chief. While the position of chief brings a magnitude of paperwork and logistical work Chief Lee never misses an opportunity to work along side his firefighters on any scene. As he prides himself on being a lead by example style leader. Please join me in giving thanks to the most dedicated member of the WFFPD.

Saturday Winfield Foley Fire Protection District was dispatched to the area of Creek Road in Moscow Mills to assist Lincoln County Fire for the report of a house on fire. Chief 6100 arrived on the scene and stated they had a working fire with smoke showing from all sides. When Engine 6144 arrived on the scene their crew quickly made an interior attack on the fire and knocked down a large part of the fire. The fire had already extended into the attic. This made it extremely difficult to get extinguished quickly due to the 40 mile an hour wind gusts. Eventually the blaze was brought under control safely. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the fire is unknown. #mutualaid #insidewffpd
