District team: Westran, Salisbury football players named to Central District team Chuck Embree | Moberly Monitor-Index... 12 hours ago Westran High School had seven of its football players filling positions on the media's Class 1 All-Central District Teams this 2020 season and Salisbury had five. The first team offense consisted of both Westran junior Derrick Merritt and Salisbury junior Grant Biere as quarterbacks. Westran senior Kolby Dale is named as a running back, sophomore Langden Kitchen is a lineman and at wide receiver is Salisbury senior Jackson King. First team defensive players included Westran's Kitchen as a lineman and King as defensive back. Named to the second team offense were Westran senior lineman Carter Patwary and Salisbury freshman receiver Cooper Francis. The second team defense included Westran senior lineman Dilland Guthrie and senior linebacker Ryan Starr, and also Salisbury junior defensive back Gabe Haines.

Received from Coach O'Laughling: The football and softball banquets will be postponed to a later date due to quarantines. We will let you know when there is a new date.

The Fall Sports banquet will be next Tuesday, November 17. Things will be a little different this year, Softball will be at 6 p.m. in the Music Room and Football will be in the gym at 6:45 p.m. Immediate family only and the Booster Club will be providing cookies and drinks.

We are extremely proud of the accomplishments these seniors have made. These young men were instrumental in turning around the worst season in over a dacade a s...eason ago (2-8), straight back into a top notch program. Usually it takes a year or two to get back to winning 7+ games, but these leaders were determined that their senior year they would get it turned around, and they did. We didn’t finish like we would have liked, but in the end, a 9-2 season is nothing to hang your heads on. We are proud of ALL 30 who fought the fight through the tough times and enjoyed the good times like our 7v7 day. Proud of the #30STRONG Bright futures are ahead for all these young men, and there will likely be no dull moments along the way! (as pictured)

Good Morning all Westran Hornet Fans. My good friend, Timmy Morgan made and donated this awesome wooden Hornet Flag to Booster Club. It measures 26" x 48" so it's a large flag. We are going to be raffling it off. Ticket sales start today through November 6th with a winning ticket being drawn on the 6th. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. You can let me know on here or on my personal page if you want tickets and I will put your name down and you can get with me this week to pay and pick up your tickets. You can come by my house or we will be selling tickets at Friday nights game (provided that's allowed). This crazy Covid stuff has caused us to do things differently this year. The concession stand will be closed from 5 to 6 so that the football team may have their Thursday night dinner. The stands are designated for student seating and the public is asked to stand socially distanced around the field. If we have to move inside due to weather, we will not be able to invite the public.
