"Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you." Jeremiah 1:5 Today, January 22nd, is the 48th anniversary of Roe Vs. Wade which legalized abortion. Today is als...o known as National Sanctity of Human Life Day. Today we remember and mourn the millions of lives and future generations that died to legal abortion in the United States. Faithful Catholics believe that ALL human life is sacred and needs to be protected from conception to natural death. We value the lives of all children pre-born and born. We value children, women, men, families, the poor, the elderly, the orphans, the sick, the disabled, the weary, the immigrants, the abused, the homeless, and those who have been harmed by human trafficking. ALL human life is sacred. Human life, according to science, begins at conception. Nobody can argue this. If abortion wasn't the killing of a human child, then why do we look away if we see a picture of an abortion? We look away because we know we are looking into the window of the womb where a human life was once growing. We are looking Truth in the face, and the reality of what an abortion really is - the slaughter of a tiny human being. The womb should be the most sacred and safest place on earth, but instead today it is the most dangerous. Abortion turns the womb into a tomb. Too many Catholics today are afraid to look evil in the eye and call it what it is. We refuse to stand up for truth. What is Truth? You're not going to find it in the media, in Hollywood, or in Washington D.C. Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Truth is God. And God is way above any political party. There is corruption and evil everywhere, and no political party is exempt from evil, but the right to life issue is not on the same level as any other issue, though many will try to tell you it is the same. Don't believe it. Without the right to life, you can't even talk about any other issue. None. Our world is changing before our eyes, and not for the better. We need to pray more than ever that God blesses us and doesn't abandon us completely. We need to stop letting the media and politicians be our moral authority and get back to thinking as faithful Catholics who actually believe what our church teaches. If we are going to call ourselves Catholic, we don't get to pick and choose who lives and who dies just to fit a particular agenda that is not of God. Catholics need to re-read the Catechism of the Catholic Church and their Catholic Bibles and be reminded what it means to be a faithful, practicing, Catholic. According to Catholic teaching, a faithful Catholic can never support abortion. Pick and choose what you want to believe about abortion and you are going against the Catholic Church. How can anyone who calls themselves a Catholic be okay with ripping tiny humans apart inside the wombs of their mother? We have let both women and children down - and too many of us have fallen for the lies, manipulation, media talking points and unGodly narratives from the media or those who pretend to preach what they decide the Catholic Church teaches about abortion. The official Catechism of the Catholic Church states: ‘‘Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception.... Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable’’ (Catechism of the Catholic Church, #2270-2271). According to Catholic teaching, abortion is considered an intrinsic evil - the deliberate killing of a human life. If you don't believe that human life starts at conception, then you are denying both science and the official teaching of the Catholic Church. If you've had an abortion, or have encouraged someone to have an abortion, please go to Confession. Don't wait. God loves you and can forgive you and He wants to help you heal. "Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion" Saint Teresa of Calcutta The United States is 1 of 6 countries allowing abortion after 20 weeks. China & North Korea are two of them. We are better than this. Please pray for our country and for all human life, both inside and outside of the womb. Please pray and do what you can to help mothers to choose life for their child, and for all children who are in danger of abortion. Please continue to fight to end abortion. Please continue to fight to protect all life from conception to natural death. Keep praying. Keep marching. Keep voting to protect life. Imagine if all of the millions of dollars that are given to Planned Parenthood every year were instead given to places to help pregnant mothers or help others adopt these children? Be Bold. Be Brave. Be Holy, Be True, Faithful Catholics. May God bless America, and our world. We desperately need it.

On this #HolocaustRemembranceDay, we remember those who suffered and died by the ruthless Nazi regime. May God grant them peace. PICTURE: The Knights of Columbu...s Board of Directors visited the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz in October 2004, during a pilgrimage to Poland concluding the Order’s yearlong celebration of the 25th anniversary of Pope John Paul II’s pontificate. Supreme Knight Carl Anderson said at the time, Words cannot adequately describe the emotions that one feels there. The sense of horror at the inhumanity of the crimes committed there is overpowering. In the picture above, Bishop Tadeusz Rakoczy of Bielsko-Zywiec and Bishop Thomas Daily of Brooklyn, then supreme chaplain, lead the group in prayer before an execution wall. See more
