ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT! Louisa Wimmer (BM Vocal Performance, 2018) shares what she has been doing since her time at Webster: "Since graduating, I’ve stayed in St. Louis, working and saving up for grad school. I’ve been a professional baker, worked with OTSL on their Wardrobe Crew (2019), I sing for First Pres Kirkwood, take voice lessons (and have given a few!), and am a full-time nanny!"... "This year I was accepted into an MM program at University of Louisville (becoming a Cardinal just made sense for this STL gal) and offered a graduate assistantship with Kentucky Opera! So cool!! While Covid-19 put a damper on starting this year, I’m eagerly awaiting starting my MM in the fall of 2021!" "My current goals: reading 30 books (I’m on #28!), playing/singing my way through the 24 Italian Art Songs, training for a half marathon in December, and starting my own home bakery!" #WebsterUMusic

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT! Abby Benson (BM Vocal Performance, 2020) started working on her MM in Vocal Performance and Literature at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana this fall. "Doing a hybrid of in-person and online classes is really difficult for someone like me who enjoys consistency and routine. That being said, I'm so glad to have chosen a school that is taking the virus seriously. The easy access to testing on campus has allowed me the opportunity to perform live ...(safely!!) twice already this semester which I know is not a privilege all of my fellow musicians have gotten during the pandemic. As far as my transition from Webster to U of I, I don't think I could have possibly been more well prepared. Seeing how difficult the transition has been for friends of mine from other schools makes me realize just how great the education I received at Webster was. In terms of upcoming projects, all I can say for now is that there will definitely be more opportunity for live performance with Lyric Theatre at Illinois next semester!" #WebsterUMusic See more

ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT! Randell McGee graduated in December 2016 with a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. Randell is currently in St. Louis, MO working as the assistant to the Minister of Music at St. James AME church and auditioning for various young artist programs. Professional accomplishments include Opera Theatre of St. Louis Gerdine Young Artist 2019 and Metropolitan Opera Encouragement Award Recipient 2020 and 2016.
