Warren County Health Department 21.12.2020

We have a few updates for the community related to COVID-19. 1. The delay in local public health departments receiving positive lab reports has started to decrease. We are STILL receiving delayed reports, but it seems to be improving. Please follow the guidelines found on our new COVID-19 dashboard https://www.warrencountyhealth.com/covid-19-dashboard/ if you test positive and have not heard from us! 2. We have many community members asking when they can get the COVID-19 ...vaccine. We understand the intense desire for many to know when you or your loved ones can receive the vaccine if you choose to do so. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services (DHSS) informed us today that Phase 1A populations (healthcare providers and staff who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to COVID-19 and are unable to work from home and nursing home residents/staff) remain the priority to get vaccinated in Missouri at this time. They stated guidance for other populations will be released later in January per DHSS. As soon as we are provided further guidance, we will notify the public immediately! 3. Warren County has been identified as a "hot spot" county by DHSS as of 12/31/20. Please continue to wear a mask, social distance, avoid gathering with those outside your immediate household and wash your hands. We need to remain vigilant with these simple public health measures that are shown to reduce transmission.

Happy Holidays! If you are gathering with family and friends, we ask that you practice social distancing, wear your masks, wash your hands often, all to protect the people you care about and yourselves. Stay home if you are sick or are supposed to be in quarantine. Coronavirus isn’t taking a break over the holidays. Warren County is still at Level 1 Extreme Risk. Thank you.

What Happens If I am Positive for COVID-19 and Live in Warren County? Positive COVID-19 Cases will be getting a call from our partners at Maximus who are helping us contact our Warren County MO positive cases! Please answer a call from 1-833-431-2201 If you have had a positive lab result please do the following until you get a call. Cases are called and investigated in the order received from Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services. This can take a number of days ...depending on the lab and DHSS. 1. Isolate from others for 10 days from 1st symptom. If still sick on day 10 continue isolation until symptoms improved. 2. Notify anyone you were a close contact with (within 6 feet for 15 minutes) starting 2 days BEFORE your symptoms started and tell them to quarantine for 14 days, watch for symptoms and get tested if even one symptom develops. 3. Letters for employers will only be issued if your case has been investigated with you on the phone by our team. Letters can only be issued to positive individuals and household contacts living with a positive individual. We are unable to provide letters to other contacts. If you are in need of a letter immediately and have not talked to member of our team to conduct our investigation of your case, you may consider requesting a copy of your lab result or a notice from your physician instead.
