Wreaths Across America at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery

Wreath Day is still happening! We will be releasing a statement shortly regarding the guidelines we must follow to be in compliance with Covid 19 safety protocols and the Safer at Home order from St. Louis County. The important things to know is there will not be a ceremony open to the public this year as has been the tradition in years past; you can still order Grave Specific wreaths for your loved ones and place them yourselves or have a volunteer place it; and there will... not be entire sections covered by large groups of people. Social distancing must be followed and those guidelines will be released soon. Our all volunteer staff coordinating this event is working hard with JBNC, NCA & WAA to make this event happen while keeping everyone safe. Stay tuned for more details as this year is proving to be extremely challenging with plans changing constantly to stay within guidelines. November 29, 2020 Update: Due to the current pandemic situation, the Planning Team had to reengineer our Wreaths Across America Event this year so that we can provide a safe environment for everyone. There are many requirements that needed to be met to allow us to have our event. Which means that there are many new instructions that our volunteers need to follow. Please read carefully so that you understand how our Wreaths Across America Event will happen at Jefferson Barrac...ks National Cemetery. The ceremony will be virtual this year!!! The Virtual Ceremony so that all can view will be uploaded to our Facebook Page *No Public Ceremony will take place! Please do not go to the cemetery for the ceremony* Wreath Laying on Our Heroes Grave Sites: Due to Covid-19, large gatherings of people are not allowed. In order for us to even have any type of Wreath Laying Event, the Planning Team had to develop a multiple day strategy. Trucks with the wreaths are not allowed at the cemetery, so we had to secure a local Wreath Distribution Site where we could provide a Drive-Thru situation in order to keep everyone safe. Our planned distribution days and times are as follows: Wednesday, December 16, 2020 8:00 to 4:30 Thursday, December 17, 2020 8:00 to 4:30 Saturday, December 19, 2020 8:00 to 4:30 WREATH DISTRIBUTION SITE: Sylvan Springs Parking Lot located off Sheridan, there will be directional signs and a map posted closer to wreath days. Please do not park your car and approach the volunteers handing out wreaths as wreaths will be distributed in a drive through manner only. Families who have sponsored Grave Specific wreaths are not required to signup for a volunteer time slot. You are welcome to pickup your wreaths at the times above and place at your convenience. We ask all volunteers to please adhere to the rule of no more than 10 people in any section at one time. Social distancing and masks are required. Thank you.
