I recently wrote about Vit D for Consumer Reports. It’s always an interesting topic, especially these days when so many people are supplementing with it.
Come join me this Saturday during the Virtual Mindful Triathlon. I'll be teaching yoga at 9:30 CDT and Holly Battrum will be leading a meditation immediately following. See below for deets.
There's still time to sign up for tomorrow's conference, which is now virtual. I'll be speaking as will local REs and others. If you're curious about the IVF process, this is your chance to get some more information on the options available. The downloadable program that KC Infertility has put together is great too. Hope to see you on my computer! https://www.kcinfertility.org//2020-family-building-confe/
If you've been curious about IVF but can't afford it, this webinar will be helpful.
I am opening up my schedule again for more patients, with all necessary precautions in place to keep patients and myself safe. Here's a sneak peek at what I was working on during #quarantine. This should hit newsstands soon!
A reminder from Kansas City Infertility.
IVF and IUI treatments are still in a holding pattern per the ASRM. #fertilityacupuncture #fertilitysupport
This issue, which I edited and wrote a bunch of stories for, is now on newsstands. (I spotted it at my local Sprouts on my weekly run, but you might find it at Walmart, Target, CVS, Walgreens, Whole Foods and more). It's packed with tips to help you get to the bottom of digestive issues, boost your immunity, squelch inflammation and more.
This was an enlightening story to work on for Consumer Reports. https://www.consumerreports.org//consumers-look-beyond-gr/
These are my go-tos these days (not including lots of antioxidant-rich and nourishing veggies and good old H2O): My office is inside Emilie's French Teas so I have an endless supply of fantastic tea, plus I keep Chinese herbs on hand and vitamin C. I keep reminding myself that "the moment is the sole reality" and I'm trying to limit my exposure to panic-inducing media; that's a virus in itself. #washingmyhands
I'm so excited to be a presenting sponsor of the upcoming Family Building Conference. #KCInfertility

Day 30: Remember to show yourself the love, compassion and patience you show others. We started with compassion and we’re ending with it as well. It’s so easy to get caught up in all the shoulds when it comes to #TTC. The focus can shift to your body and the process, ignoring the human and the heart that may be suffering. His Holiness The Dalai Lama had it right: If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. Give yourself the space and time to feel, heal and be human. Then keep moving forward. Day 29: Find a provider you can talk to. Doctors are busy and it’s hard to get the time to really connect. Regardless, if you’re #TTC you should try to work with someone who takes the time to get to know you, your history and your concerns. That may be a gyno or reproductive endocrinologist, a naturopath or a Chinese medicine practitioneror all the above! You can work with more than one and that integrative approach may be just what you need to finally get your mind and body in the right spot to conceive. It’s your body (and money!) so don’t hesitate to voice your concerns and ask all your questions. #fertilityjourney #itsallaboutyou
Day 28: Pare down your supplement list. I’ve had patients bring in bags of supplements that they’re taking, which always makes me cringe a bit. Like prescription meds, supplements should be taken cautiously and judiciously. Your liver and kidneys have to process all those pills and the fillers inside them. If you’re #TTC, you always need a good prenatal vitamin (I like the @theralogix line) and your gyno/RE may have some specific recommendations as well (e.g., CoQ10, vitamin ...D, DHEA, DHA, L-arginine and/or others). If you have PCOS, an inositol supplement may be in order. Regardless, a healthy, anti-inflammatory diet rich in veggies and legumes among other nourishing foods is always a good place to start in terms of maximizing your nutrition so you can take fewer pills. Still, speak with the provider you trust most and go over what you’re taking, what you actually need that has good science supporting it, and what you can toss. #fertilityjourney #makingbabies See more
