I have been ask to post this on behalf of the Viburnum Lions Club. Dear Friends of the Viburnum Community - The Viburnum Lions Club is again sponsoring the Community 4th of July Fireworks Display. However, we need donations to make this event possible. The 4th of July Fireworks has been an annual event in the Viburnum community for years. We need your help for it to continue.... The community has enjoyed the fine fireworks Display for many years because you have supported it. We are asking for your help once again. The Quad County Fire Department will again set up and set off the Fireworks Display. The display as in the last years will be set off at the Viburnum Airstrip, across from the Doe Run Offices at dusk. This years 4th of July will be a celebration of the end of the Covid-19 social separation mandates and a celebration of our American Freedoms. Due to the weather the last week we have been delayed in our pool projects and we need to fix some lighting issues. Therefore the pool at the Viburnum Golf and Country Club will be delayed in opening until the parts come in and the issue resolved.

We are making plans at the Viburnum Golf and Country Club to open the pool for the season. Our goal is to open Memorial Weekend but the rain has delayed some work we are needing to complete on the pool. At this point there are still some things we are unclear about related to the Covid 19 issue. Once open we ask that people be respectful of the Physical Distancing, bring your own hand sanitizer and for now plan to bring your own chair to use. We do not have the staff and resources to sanitize each lounger we own at this time. Therefore at least initially there we be no setting (loungers) provided until further notice. We are in the process of trying to get back to normal at the Viburnum Golf and Country Club. We ask that you respect the Physical Distancing concept and bring your own hand sanitizer for course use. We are now renting carts again and ask that you use caution for everyones safety. If you are sick, have a fever or other symptoms of Covid 19 we ask that you do not seek to use the property in any manner. It's our plan to have the pool open by Memorial Day Weekend as in the past.... Again please be respectful and Physically distance as much as possible. The Viburnum Fitness Center will also be back open as normal starting Monday May 4th. I can't stress enough to be respectful of space. If there are people using the equipment and you can't distance yourself please wait or come at a different time.
