VFW Auxiliary 5844

As of this morning only 4 Districts have made it to 100%. Congratulations to D3, D5, D15 and D18. Several more are close. Missouri is still 588 members short ...of our goal. I'm asking everyone who sees this to pick up the phone this week and call our unpaid members or contact a veteran friend and ask them to join. Copy this onto every post and District FB page and rally our membership! With over 28,000 members in Missouri there is no reason we can't do this! But it requires all of us to step up and do our part. 588 is an average of 3 members per Post. Larger posts should be able to reach many more than that. Recruiting is everyone's responsibility. A handful of officers can't do it alone. This is All Hands On Deck! Let's show the VFW that Missouri gets the job done!

Holden VFW and Auxiliary will have a table at the Holden Rodeo. Recruiting event, POW/MIA. Veterans Service Officer will be on site to answer question.The missing man table will be set up. Also included will be a buddy poppy drive. Hope to see you all there.

Meet and share ideas with fellow members, vote on resolutions for changes to the National B...ylaws, cheer on your Department during awards and attend seminars to get you prepared for the new Program Year. Kansas City is home to the National World War I Museum, Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, American Jazz Museum, finger-licking barbeque, local distilleries and breweries, and more fountains than any city in the world other than Rome. As the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic and social-distancing requirements change, our plans for an in-person convention may be impacted.

Our Featured Member this week is VFW Auxiliary 5844! We are very thankful for their support and commitment to our community in so many ways. The VFW has 100 m...embers and the Auxiliary has 96 members. Each month they offer a breakfast on the last Saturday of the month, however, this month they will be putting up flags on Saturday, May 29 instead of serving breakfast. If you'd like to help them, please meet at the Holden Cemetery at 10 am on May 29. There will be a POW/MIA Commemorative ceremony on May 31 at 10 am at the Holden Cemetery, Holden VFW Memorial Day Service for more details. If you'd like to become a member you need to provide a DD214 for either your service or the family member that you are supporting by joining the Auxiliary. For more details about that, they will have an Open House at the Post directly after the ceremony on Monday, 104 E. 2nd St Holden, MO. Meetings are held the 3rd Monday of each month. See more
