Congratulations to the Van Horn High School Senior Award recipients! Help us celebrate the wonderful accomplishments of these ISD seniors during their Virtual Senior Awards ceremony by congratulating them in the comments below...
They are yours. We care for them as ours. We miss our students! #isdstrong
We are extremely proud and excited to celebrate the great work of our staff on our Virtual Learning Resources. We will continue to add to these lessons in the days ahead. These optional, supplemental learning opportunities can be found on our website at www.isdschools.org. Most lessons have corresponding YouTube videos. All linked videos allow you to utilize closed captioning and select the language of your choice. The Independence School District is first and foremost an institution of learning. While these activities are not a replacement for classroom instruction, we are committed to providing educational opportunities for students throughout this closure.
We are excited to share that we are expanding our student meal supports beginning on Monday, March 30. ISD bus drivers will utilize our high school bus routes t...o deliver meals at bus stops Monday - Friday. Please verify your nearest bus stop and time by visiting our website www.isdschools.org. You will find a bus icon on the home page that will allow you to enter your student ID number to find the stop nearest you and the time the bus will be there daily. Please arrive at the stop 10 minutes before the specified time. Buses may arrive up to 10 minutes before the listed stop time or 10 minutes after. Please maintain social distancing from others waiting at stops for meals and also from our bus drivers. When the bus pulls up to each stop, please wait while maintaining social distancing. Parents should escort children to stops. It is not mandatory for students to be present to receive meals. We will also continue serving grab and go lunches (which will also include breakfast for the following day) to all children under the age of 18 from 11 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. at Bridger Middle School, Truman High School, Van Horn High School and William Chrisman High School. Parents can drive up along the front entrance drive and our staff can bring those grab and go meals out so you do not need to get out of your vehicle. We will have plenty of meals to go around so please do not hesitate to take advantage of these meals for the children in your household. This is also an important way our bus drivers and nutrition services team members can continue to serve as they are essential personnel while serving and delivering meals.
Monday, March 23 through Friday, March 27, the Independence School District will continue serving grab and go lunches (which will also include breakfast for the following day) to all children under the age of 18. Meals will be available at Bridger Middle School, Truman High School, Van Horn High School, William Chrisman High School and the community sites listed on the attached flyer. Please look closely at the flyer for times and locations. Parents can drive up along the front entrance and our staff can bring those grab and go meals out so you do not need to get out of your vehicle. You can find updated information and access our Virtual Learning Resources at www.isdschools.org.
