Urban farming has never just been about growing food for us; the same way we nourish and cultivate urban growing spaces in unlikely places, we also strive to feed your appetite for greenery, gardening knowledge, and community. As we wrap up this year, our most critical need is repairing the FOOD ROOF to ensure that we’re ready to hit the ground growing in just a few months. Will you help us reach our $15,000 goal by the end of tomorrow? https://urbanharveststl.kindful.com/?campaign=1097690

Building new farms is fun, but so is maintaining the ones we have! We're raising funds for repairs at the FOOD ROOF Farm so that it's in tip-top shape to grow & donate food next season. Help us reach $5,000 by #GivingTuesday on December 1 at http://ow.ly/p8xe50CgZgo

Thank you Liberty Apple Orchard for hosting our staff/intern gleaning day It was a beautiful morning to be outdoors picking apples that we're sharing with The Fit and Food Connection, North Newstead Association, and ULSTL! And a rare occasion since March that we've all been in the same place so grateful for the opportunity to spend time together doing what we love. Stay tuned for how many pounds we picked for donation....

From farm row to donation-ready! This week we passed the 4,000 pound mark with a 75-pound harvest at Rung for Women bringing us to 4,104 lbs grown in 2020. We've gotten so lucky with the incredible weather this week - what a wonderful way to start wrapping up the season!

Urban Harvest STL 08.09.2020

Today we're appreciating our incredible volunteers Over the course of this season, we hosted 220 individuals over 69 volunteer days, totaling 789 hours committed to three of our farm sites. Our youngest volunteer was 7 years old; who knows how old the oldest one was! The most hours given by a single volunteer was 51 hours (shoutout to Alana Powers!). We also want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped us build our new farm at Rung for Women we truly couldn't have moved those 270 tons of mulch and soil without you! Pictured here: volunteers posing with Ms. Rosie Willis (center), founder and owner of Fresh Starts Community Garden!
