COVID-19 vaccines! On Thursday, June 17, Children’s Mercy will offer COVID-19 vaccines to UA students who are 12 years of age or older at UA from 11-1 p.m. If you are interested, please email [email protected] as soon as possible. CONGRATULATIONS, CLASS OF 2021!!! They did it! Last night, the newest University Academy graduates were celebrated and officially sent out into the world to succeed in institutions of higher education and be leaders in society. The ceremony included addresses from board member Nicole Jacobs Silvey and class valedictorian Jessiyah Ewing. We are so proud of you all! It's a great day to be a Gryphon!

Still need a flu shot? On Thursday, Nov. 12, Children’s Mercy will be hosting another drive-thru flu vaccine event for registered students of the Wellness Center at no cost. This event will be from 2-4 p.m. in the UA parking lot. You won't even need to get out of the car! Click below for more details.
Current and former UA students across the city stepped into the room where it happens yesterday--their polling places--to vote in a presidential election for the very FIRST TIME!! Distribution Day Fun Nov. 2 was a great day at UA! We were happy to see hundreds of students and parents during our K-8 grade materials distribution event. We also distributed 380 new chromebooks to those who qualified via summer school. The Kansas City Chiefs were represented by staff and cheerleaders, as we distributed books and backpacks as part of the new Kingdom United partnership. In addition, Children's Mercy provided 46 free flu shots for UA students. Thank you to all families who came up to the campus! If you were not able to make it, please contact the school for alternative pickup times.

University Academy is proud to announce two partnerships to support equity and inclusion efforts. UA and The Kansas City Chiefs have partnered for "Kingdom United," a literacy program for K-5 students and teachers. UA is also partnering with three local charter schools to undergo a multi-day diversity, equity and inclusion training with renowned experts Dr. Nicole Price and Dr. Ian Roberts. No TRICKS here... Just a TREAT! UA won its first round district matchup yesterday against Wellington-Napoleon, 16-14. De'Ante Hawley and Christian Terrell scored touchdowns for the Gryphons, with Tyrese Wilson and Alonzo Jacobs getting clutch two-point conversions to secure the win. Next up is a second round game this Friday night against Sweet Springs (with Malta Bend) at Sweet Springs. Go Gryphons!!

The Lady Gryphon volleyball team closed out its home season with a win over Crossroads on Senior Night this week. Let's show some love to our SENIORS--Skylar Oates, Olamide Sowemimo and Talea Wilson.
