Leadership Development and Inclusion How do we select candidates for leadership development programs? Once we have them, what and how do we train them? Our answers to these questions need to be shared and talked about if we are going to improve inclusiveness in our leadership development efforts. I’m making a call for you to share your thoughts on Facebook, LinkedIn, via email and by making a comment on the blog. [ 501 more words. ] https://communitydevelopmentmuextensionkc.wordpress.com//l

Support the Palestine Neighborhood in their Capacity Building Project Aug 21, 2015 Community Capital Fund grantee Palestine Neighborhood Development Corporation (PNDC) recently launched their crowdfunding campaign to develop and implement their Coordinated Engagement Partnership Program. Any contribution from $10 to $500+ will help them develop their leadership program to accomplish their own revitalization work throughout the neighborhood.... PNDC, working in conjunction with program partners MU-Extension and the UMKC Institute for Human Development, will train and provide ongoing mentoring support to a neighborhood coordinator and will facilitate capacity development of PNDC leadership, staff, volunteers, as well as other community-based organizations, and residents. The Palestine Neighborhood is located in Kansas City, Missouri and is bounded on the north by Linwood Blvd, 39th Street on the south, Indiana Avenue on the west and Jackson Avenue on the east. The neighborhood has just over 2200 residents. The program is a new approach to old, difficult problems that plague the urban neighborhoods of Kansas City and most other large cities. It places the control of redevelopment squarely in the hands of community residents and lowers the reliance on others. This pilot project will, in addition to accomplishing the identified goals and outcomes, show other neighborhoods a low-cost, effective approach to taking control of their own destinies. As a CCF Neighborhood Opportunity Grant recipient, PNDC will raise 20% of their grant award through their online crowdfunding campaign that will run the entire month of August.
