As we continue to dive into our Lenten series' theme Again & Again from our friends at A Sanctified Art, this Second Sunday in Lent we consider two major stories from Mark's Gospel: the Confession at Philippi and the Transfiguration. What was the strange place where they were in Philippi? What happened on that mountain? Why is Peter always opening his mouth so much? What can we learn about who Jesus is and how that shaped our discipleship? Join us for online worship as Rev.... Michael guides us further along our Lenten journey in his sermon Again & Again We Are Called to Listen (Mark 8:31-9:8). The service includes a time of Holy Communion, so if you would like to share at home using your own communion elements, please have them ready. And it doesn't have to be bread and wine use what you have available that symbolizes our common life in God and our hope for a better world.

If you want to get into the spirit of service for Thanksgiving, we invite you to contribute to the MEMORIAL BOULEVARD CHRISTIAN CHURCH FOOD PANTRY to help our neighbors in need. Disciples congregations from across the area will be hosting DRIVE THRU FOOD DRIVES this SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 15, to set the table for a happy Thanksgiving for the families served by the MBCC Food Pantry. Union Avenue is responsible for collecting and providing CANNED CORN, boxes of Jell-O, and BOXED (or bagged) DRESSING MIX. Our OUTREACH MINISTRY TEAM will be collecting cans and boxes this SUNDAY from 1 3 p.m. on the Union Avenue parking lot. Other Disciples congregations will be contributing other items to complete the meal. See you Sunday on our parking lot ... where things look a little different these days!
