UMKC Senegal Study Abroad Program 29.01.2021

After the Ebola pandemic, Senegal set up an emergency operations center to manage public health crises. Some covid-19 test results come back in 24 hours, and the country employs aggressive contact tracing. Every coronavirus patient is given a bed in hospital or other health-care facility. Senegal has a population of 16 million, but has only 302 registered deaths. https://www.washingtonpost.com//africa-has-defied-covid-1/

UMKC Senegal Study Abroad Program 14.12.2020

#Repost @umkcwomenc with @get_repost Greetings UMKC students and campus community, in response to the unfortunate events that have taken place in 2020, the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs (MSA) is partnering with various UMKC departments and student organizations to host a campus forum where the UMKC campus community can come together (virtually) in solidarity and simply talk. Our campus is hurting and the nation is in a state of unrest and we want to provide an o...utlet to express your feelings and discuss ways in which we can move forward. This forum will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2020 from 7:30pm-9:00pm, via Zoom. To receive the Zoom link, email [email protected] Open to UMKC students, faculty, and staff only. Co-Sponsored by: UMKC Counseling Services, Office of Student Involvement, LGBTQIA+, Women’s Center, Violence Prevention & Response, Student Government Association (SGA), National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), The African American Student Union (TAASU) Men of Color (MOC), Asian Students in American (ASIA), Latinx Student Union (LSU), and the Multicultural Student Organization Council (MSOC). Co-Facilitated by: Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, Dr. Toya Like. #blacklivesmatter #umkcwomenscenter #umkcmulticulturalstudentaffairs
