Good afternoon Mississippi County: We have 65 new positive cases in Mississippi County since Friday. If someone is listed as unknown for age or race, it has not... been reported to us at this time. Since Friday: Cases in Mississippi County (Community + SECC) Total Cases: increased from 1133 to 1198 Active Cases: increased from 266 to 278 (259 confirmed, 19 probable) Deaths: remained the same at 13 Cases in the Community Total Cases: increased from 905 to 951 Active Cases: decreased from 85 to 78 (59 confirmed, 19 probable) Deaths: remained the same at 13 Cases at the SECC Total Cases: increased from 228 to 247 Active Cases: increased from 181 to 200 (all confirmed) Deaths: remained the same at 0 A confirmed case has detected SARS-CoV-2 RNA in a laboratory test (PCR test). The CDC defines a probable case as: Meeting clinical criteria and epidemiological evidence (no positive PCR test) Detection of specific antigen (positive antibody) in a clinical specimen and meets either clinical evidence or epidemiological evidence. Meets vital records criteria with no positive PCR test. As we continue to receive new positive results, it is highly recommended that the following precautions be taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community: Limit close contact with people who are outside of your household Wear a mask or cloth face covering in public Wash your hands frequently or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol content Avoid touching your face Stay home if you are feeling sick Stay safe and healthy!
